House Tour

Provence features a sumptuous a king bed, grey velvet sofa and chair, large ottomans and a small antique desk.  The gas-coal fireplace is from Chesney's in London and provides warmth as well as visual delight.  With South and North windows, sunny mornings are a pleasure in Provence. 

The finely appointed chair and sofa are almost more comfortable than the king sized bed. Looking across wonderful oriental rugs toward the central hall.

Looking out to the central hall again one notices the fine artwork. Above the gas fireplace is Climbing for Coconuts by I Putu Pager which is part of the household collection of artwork assembled by Nancy Shaw.

The bathroom has a two person tub and a German limestone shower.

Garden features a queen bed, a large sitting area with fireplace on the east and an oversized reading chair on the west. To the right of the bed is the fireplace sitting area in this photo.

Large windows in both bedroom and bath showcase light and view from the north, east and west.   You will enjoy private views of the back yard herb garden, delicate sunrises and spectacular sunsets in this beautiful suite.

This oversized reading chair faces west so you can read in the afternoon and be in place to watch the sunset over the Vermont hills.

The ensuite bath is a fantastical Tuscan design with German limestone shower, a two person tub, double sinks and a separate toilet area that also includes a bidet and third sink.

Two large connected living rooms and circulation space are on the main floor of the house, along with the dining room and kitchen.  This floor has approximately 3500 square feet of space with two fireplaces!

The interior fireplaced living room is private from outside view, yet has light all day long.  The upper hallway balcony overlooks this living room, which features 28' ceilings.

The sitting area around this cozy fireplace has room for everyone and all their stories.
