An Artist's Own Luxury Vermont Retreat
Adams Hill House is located on the border between Newfane and Dover, Vermont, close to the Four Columns Inn, Hermitage Club and Inn, Haystack, Mount Snow and Stratton ski areas, as well as the Marlboro Music Festival. See the Local Activities section of this website for many nearby attractions.
It is less than 1 hour from Teterboro or Hanscomb field in your plane and an easy a 2.5 hour drive from Boston or 4 hours from Manhattan.
There is space to land a helicopter on the property.
The local airport, Mount Snow/Deerfield Valley Airport, is 15 minutes away. It is presently a fair-weather airport for private jets and smaller, though it will soon be expanded to accommodate a full-size commercial jet. The expansion will also reduce closures due to snow and high winds.
In inclement weather, we presently recommend the airports at either Keene, New Hampshire or Bennington, Vermont, both under an hour away and both with rental cars available.
Limo and private car services are also available locally.
Architecturally stunning, artistically crafted using reclaimed architectural elements, and wood and stone taken from the site, Adams Hill House is decorated in an eclectic, timeless style, as you can see from the photos, with custom made, classic, modern and antique furnishings, a large contemporary art collection and oriental rugs.
The house itself has a timeless quality that usually comes only from generations of family and many renovations. It has exceptional light, views and privacy, suitable for a family, group of friends or colleagues who wish an exclusive retreat without crowds. The drive to the property can be gated if the guests require extra security.
As a vacation rental, you will enjoy the first and second floors of the house which comprise 5,500 square feet/five hundred square meters of open, flowing rooms. It is situated on twenty-five private acres.
Books and magazines on art, design, cooking and travel as well as history, classics and best-seller novels fill bookcases throughout the house.
Italian bed linens, heavy towels, European goose down pillows and duvets as well as casual-elegant furnishings make this a truly comfortable home.
Guests comment on the quiet, the air, the quality of accommodation and the privacy as unriveled in the area.
At Adams Hill House, we provide every element necessary for a relaxing vacation or productive retreat.

The wedding party will enjoy four second floor bedrooms with ensuite master baths or half baths. The terraces and grounds of the main house plus and exclusive use of the farm property and pond give you many options for photography or an outdoor reception.
A second house is available on the same property with an additional 4 bedrooms. There are many inns and bed-and-breakfast facilites nearby for larger parties.
In summer, outdoor facilities can be created for groups of up to 100. No outdoor facilities are available in the winter, so the party will be restricted to twenty for a sit down dinner.
A cocktail party with finger food for a larger group up to 50 is very comfortable even in winter.
